Julie Lea Goodwin is a distinguished principal soprano with Opera Australia. In 2019, she starred as Maria in the outdoor production of West Side Story on Sydney Harbour. Her notable roles with the company include Musetta in La bohème, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims. She also created the role of Wendy Whiteley in the world premiere of Elena Kats-Chernin’s Whiteley.

Julie Lea has performed in various prestigious engagements, including the title role in The Merry Widow and Juliette in Die tote Stadt. Her 2024 appearances include the New Year’s Eve Gala at the Sydney Opera House and the Puccini Gala concert in Melbourne.

Her earlier performances include Musetta in Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour's La bohème, and roles in Metamorphosis, The Cunning Little Vixen, and Annie. Julie Lea’s debut classical album, Love Went a-Riding, was released by Skylark Classics. She is a proud Ambassador for Collezione Santina Haute Couture.
